The Permian Basin faces a significant gap in local healthcare access—forcing thousands to seek critical care elsewhere. The Beacon responds with a bold strategy to keep high-quality care close to home, reduce outmigration, and serve the entire regional population.

Signature Projects

Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center (PBBHC)

A 200-bed inpatient/outpatient facility—under construction—that will become a new regional hub for mental and behavioral health, and the primary teaching hospital for TTUHSC Psychiatry. Opening 2026.

Regional EMS Collaboration

The Beacon Alliance is working to strengthen emergency medical services by advancing regional collaboration, workforce development, and training opportunities. Through partnerships with healthcare systems, EMS agencies, and public sector stakeholders, this initiative is helping improve emergency response capabilities, support provider recruitment and retention, and enhance access to high-quality pre-hospital care throughout the region.
